happy teachers' day

Can you recall what your teacher had taught you in your schooling days?

It seems like so long ago since I last celebrated Teachers' Day. I had came across an article in the newspaper today which somehow makes me think. What had we actually gained from our teachers?

Well, of course, along your path in your life, we'll meet someone who became our teacher in some way. Teacher teaches, so, whoever taught us something can be considered as a teacher, I guess. But let's just talk about teachers that had crossed our path back in our schooling days.

Does it sounds silly if I say that I could not recall at all what my teacher had taught me regarding how the chemicals react to each other, but I could remember so clearly what he told us on how he lose his weight!

Teachers really played a large role in our growing up days. They are as important as our parents as they are the ones that we spent our time with, when we are in school. And we actually spent at least one forth of a day in school.

However, if you noticed, we would not have a teacher for a long period of time. A year or two the most. The bond between the teachers and us will just gone by after the year. Therefore, sometimes we can hardly feel that we really know a teacher well and vice versa.

I always believed that teacher does more than teaching. A good teacher does not only teaches on the subjects for examination, but also teaches the way of becoming a good student, a good child to parents, a good citizen to contribute back to the country and also a responsible being.

So, it's the very least that we can do, which is to wish our teachers - Happy Teachers' Day!

To all my teachers, although I cannot say that I remembered every single thing that you had taught me, and neither can I say that I had applied well on everything you taught me, but I am really grateful of having you as my teacher.

Looking back, those days may seem to be fleeting moments, but memories left behind are priceless indeed.

p/s: I like the comment stated in the article, which says something like this, 'Malaysian has the habit of celebrating an event for a whole month, so it's still not late to wish - HAPPY TEACHERS' DAY!!'
