year end

It's not easy with age catching up you, right?
Not only things seems to be more complex, but time seems to pass quite fast and body seems to get tired easily.
Maybe it's time to perk up!
Actually age has nothing, or maybe more appropriate to phrase as "minimal", impact on what you want to do.
Ain't we seeing elders that seems to be more active than the youngers ?

There's just another 2 days before end of year 2009 before the new year begins.
Time to reflect on what goals have been achieved and what has not.
Time to count your blessings and be thankful for the whole year grace upon you.
Time to make new resolutions for the coming new year and grit your teeth to fulfil them.
We need to have better resolutions from year to year, in order to improve our being, not only physically, mentally, but also spiritually.

May the new year brings better achievements and lots of love for everyone.

Believe in yourself and you can soar in the sky.

Happy New Year !!!

keep on trying

People said that you'll need to get up from where you have fallen.

When we are young, we tend to to keep trying relentlessly until we finally managed to get something done. For instance, trying to walk, trying to run, trying to get something from our parents. Then how come the older we get, the less effort we put in trying to do something?

As you get older, are you afraid of falling down, of getting trip over?
Is it true that the older we get, the more we are afraid to fail? They said to try doesn't means fail, 'cause we lose nothing in trying since we never got it in the first place.

They said that you feel afriad because you do not how things will end up. Just like you are afraid of darkness because you are unfamiliar with your surroundings.

So, if you could just muster some courage, believe in yourself and keep on trying, you'll make it to where you want to be, someday, somehow.

As the alchemist said, "When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it", just like the secret which reveals on the law of attraction.

broken glass

People said that relationship is just like a glass, once broken, even if you fixed it, the scars remains. What if you have broken the glass twice?
To think in another way, every time the glass broke, the owner cut itself, too.

Why would one mend a broken glass?
A) 'Cause it's a favourite glass?
B) 'Cause it's the one and only one in the world?
C) 'Cause it just comfortable to use?
D) 'Cause it's wasteful to just throw it away?
E) 'Cause it's still reusable?
F) 'Cause it still hasn't have a replacement?

What would the answer be?
Do I have an answer, too?

2523 days

What can be gone through in 2523 days? Time really flies. Unconsciously, few thousands days have passed. Wonder how many millions of seconds have gone by, without really noticing it.

Time is like a kind of herb, if use correctly, it can be a medicine. However, if use wrongly, it can be a fatal poison.

Love is something, after going through time, will either become stronger or weaker. There is nothing in the world that remains as it is from the very first day till the end of its lifetime. Even human will grow old, even fruits will grow and ripen, not to say droplets in the clouds will too, fall into the sea as rain.

Teardrop is like a small container of your memories. They flow because of joy, yet they also flow because of sadness.

Fairytale is always the best love story where everyone lives happily ever after. Are there really fairy tales in real life, too?

Hard work is something almost unheard of in this era, where mostly only think of working smart. Is it really worth it to put in hard work in something that you believe in?

Believing in something doesn't makes that thing right, as sometimes our minds are clouded by other thoughts. So, once in a while, we need to listen to our heart. Follow your heart.

If it's the truth, there's nothing to be afraid of.

Nothing is lost even if you are left with nothing by the end of the day, as it's the day's journey that really matter the most.

Saying is always easier than doing, yet, just keep on trying, 'cause your day will come, too.

losing sight

Has anyone lose sight off what they want to do? Or would it be more approriate to phrase it as - Who has not ever lose sight of what they want to?

I believe 8 out of 10 people would have gone through the ordeal of losing their sights. Not the physical sight, though. In our life, there will be times that we just simply lose our sight without knowing it. When you seems to do things aimlessly, that's when you know you have temporary lose your sight. Lose your sight of the big picture, of your aim, of your goals.

That's why you need to keep on reminding yourself, not to keep losing your sight. To not lose sight, you'll not lose yourself.

body, mind & soul

It just kind of pop up in my head this morning, "What is the connection between body, mind and soul?" I guess, these kind of philosophy books are quite common and are readily available in the market, indulging us with various kind of information on the whats and hows of connection between the trio.

I could not recall at this moment whether I had read any of those books before, but I do love to read up these kind of philosophy or self help books or articles, if I manage to come across them. I agree that body, mind and soul are interlink with each other, each one needed each other in order to be a complete one.

I was thinking then, was it the healthy body that radiant the soul, or was it the beautiful soul that radiant the body? Thinking back, I had missed out the mind's role. Maybe with the mind's energy, both body and soul actually radiant each other at the very same time. And if without any one of them, nothing shines.

So, it concludes that we need the trio to work hand in hand in order to achieve the completeness.

anna

I have read a really interesting story recently. Ain't sure if it's just a fiction, but I would believe that such a girl would have exists somewhere in the world.

There are a lot of things that this young girl had mentioned that sounded very true. And surprisingly, I do have a common thought with her. I find that I learnt a lot, simply by reading about her. It's truly a blessing if you could meet someone like her.

There is an interesting idea that she brought up. I might have twisted a bit of what she said but I find that it can be applied on other things as well. People are like music chords, where the same song can be played by different chords but actually they are singing the same song. Just like the different races of people we have, we are all just speaking in different languages, having different religions, but actually deep down, we are the same.

So, shouldn't we lived harmoniously together?

busy

Are you busy lately? What are you busy with?

Is it common that people keep saying that they are busy? Well, if life is not busy, then it would seems like you are not working on something and life would seems empty. But how busy should we get?

Being busy doesn't mean spending all your time only at doing a single thing. You can get busy with various of stuff but at a balance mode. Because at the end of the day, it is not just how much effort you have put in, in one thing, but, it is what have you really accomplished during that period of time.

down

If things are down and glum, what would you do?
Why not wake up from it?

Life is all about choices. If things are really looking gloomy, why not step out of it and go under the sunshine? You can choose either to continue to mourn over it or just simply get over it.

Of course things said are easier than be done. Yet, if you have the will, there will be a way. Never say never. 'Cos you wouldn't know without trying.

Nobody borned with full of knowledge and vast experiences. Knowledge are to be learned, while experience are to be gained. (Well, we are not talking about old souls here, of course)

Take things one at a time. Never rush into things mindlessly, as you might just end up repeating it over and over again until you get it right. You got to learn to walk before you learn to run.

Life is a cycle, just like karma. What goes around, comes around. If there are things you should faced, then no matter how hard you try to hide, you are bound to go over it, so why fret over it?

passion

Passion. I have came across the word a few times today within an hour of reading the papers. Well, what is passion? Passion can be said to be a strong emotion, generally, either love or hate. But there is another meaning, which is boundless enthusiasm.

What drives someone to succeed in life? Hardwork? Social network? Well, these do play some parts, but I think the core is passion. Without passion in what one does, one would have easily given up when facing the brick walls. Without passion, everything that you do would seems to be mechanical and meaningless.

So, what ever you do, you need to have the passion for it, else look for something that you have passion for. It is not just things like your career but even the small little things in your daily life. That would truly be living your life to the fullest. Don't let your passion drown because of the passing time.

What is life without the passion of living?

maze

People say that life is a journey, I think that life seems to be like a maze, where you need to keep on walking and walking, turning corners after corners, until you get on the correct path, then you are able to find your way out.

There are times when, maybe you haven't realised that, you have been doing the same thing again and again. And until you get it right, you have to keep on repeating that. And only after you get the thing right, then you can be "leveled up". Sounds like playing in a game, where you have to keep repeating the same thing until you get all right then only can go to the next level.

Someone had mentioned that in game itself, it has given us a lot of knowledge to use in real life. Yet, when people are so good in playing games, don't seem to know how to apply the same rule in real life. Why is it so hard?

la melancolía

Español: La principal causa de la melancolía es el ocio; no hay mejor remedio que la actividad Robert Burton

English: The main cause of melancholy is idleness; there is no better remedy than activity. This is very true, have you ever notice how if you are feeling down some exercise can be just the cure.

yiruma

Have you heard of Yiruma? A Korean pianist that is well-known internationally and his few famous pieces - Kiss of Rain, River Flows in You. I had some how stumbled across this famous figure when I was asked to search for his songs. His soothing, deep-meaning songs stir up a lot of emotions, I must admit.

five senses

Five senses that we mostly have - eyes to see, ears to listen, tongue to taste, nose to smell and skin to touch.
I wondered why we do not add in another two - mind to think and heart to feel?

Ain't it true, that most of us, humans, don't really use the basic five senses that we have. Instead we seem to use the mind the most. But one thing about mind is that it can be or might be deceptive. As for the heart, that some may use, tends to be bias, too.
So, what do we end up with?

Well, not all is doom and gloom. If only we use all seven senses that we have, I guess, wouldn't we have a better perspective of how things really are?
See - look at things not only by its appearance itself but also its surroundings
Listen - hear not only from the main source but also from other various sources
Taste - might not be applicable to all situations but everything do have a unique individual taste
Smell - might not be applicable to all situations but everything also have its own distiguished smell
Touch - might not be applicable to all situations but everthing have different textures
Think - consider not only the past but present and future; not only cons but pros
Feel - sense it but don't be clouded by own emotions

eclipse @ breaking dawn

Finally, I have finished the last two books of the twilight saga. Quite a good feat to complete the last book in a day, taking into account that I have not been so religiously with my book for the last few years.

I think I would really loved to read the Midnight Sun (Edward's version of Twilight) but will need to wait till the author is ready. It's such a pity but if the book is ever to be released, it would worth the long wait.

The storyline is really sweet. Stephanie Meyer describes a lot on what Bella is thinking, which is as if a real person is thinking, pausing, considering options, trying to make a decision, wondering what other is thinking or seeing.

After finished reading the books, some how I felt like viewing the movie. I wondered how close would the similarities be between the book and the movie. But since I missed the movie when it was aired, guess I would need to search it online. I have seen the casts of the movie, not really what I had imagined them to be but I guess comments can be put off until the movie is watched.

mixed emotions

I don't know how to describe what this kind of day this is.

I received a wedding invitation from a colleague cum client of mine. He even posted a link for us to view his pre-wedding photos. The photos were great and some looked kinda grand, too. But, it coincide with a wedding lunch of another friend of mine. And these two weddings are far apart. Urgh, torn apart, which one should I attend? Jeez, maybe I'll need to shop again.

Just within the same hour after reading the invitation, I got a call from a friend who hasn't been in contact for some time. It was great to hear her voice after so long. But the news that she brought was really unexpected. A friend of ours, H, just passed away this morning. Her voice was choking with tears while she talking. Although I'm not very close with H but she had been very friendly and we had went on a short trip together before. I believe that this would certainly be a great blow to her family.

Are feelings permanent? The joy and the pain that we felt will always pass on, but as of when then that would be depending on the impact it had on us at that time. Life goes on no matter you are happy or sad.

socializing

Good friends are hard to come and this is true. Some say that you do not need many friends, just a few true ones will do. That sounds true to me, too.

They said that socializing is a kind a skill. No doubt. For some, it may takes few years of polishing, for some it may just be their in-born nature while for others it may a painstaking experience. Honestly, it is not really a hard-to-acquire skill. If only you put in your heart to learn it, as nothing is impossible.

It is really nice to meet up friends who, even though had not met up each other for years, yet they seems so warm and wanted to know how you have been doing. Though questions may be roughly the same from everyone - how have you been, where are you working now, what are you working as, have you gotten a boyfriend/girlfriend, when are you getting married, how is your child(ren), who are you keeping in touch with, etc. Typical questions, and sometimes is it kind of bored to keep hearing the same questions over and over again. Yet, most of the times, these are actually the best ice-breaking questions!

It actually feels good that someone wanted to know how you have been doing. Though it is always hard to explain in lengthy and sometimes I suspect the other party might not be that interested to hear all the details. Mostly people would just want to know the summarized version of your life. Nobody have hours to listen just your part of the story. Well, unless for those that you have been keeping in touch you all along, might want to know the latest updates.

So, if you only you have learnt a bit of socializing skill, all these would pose no problem and you would not feel out of place in the mass of people, whom you called them your friends.

individuality

Individuality. This word somehow found its way to my morning conversation just now. And it struck hard.

It is always easy to say that each and every person is unique in its own way, each having different kind of personality and you could never find two person alike. But how often do we really think and act as if each and everyone is an individual?

Often, we are stuck in our own world of fantasy. Imagining everything and everyone around us will do what we would like, what we would approve of or what we think is right. That is why it always upset us when things go the wrong way.

Well, everyone is different. So, what we have to do when what others do or say don't seems to agree with us, always remember the word, individuality.

twilight @ new moon

Been catching up with my readings recently, and it felt so good to be able to sneak back into the dream world, mesmerize by all those words.

I have been indulged in Stephanie Meyer books for the past weekend and end up finishing the first two books of the Twilight series. Can't seems to wait to get my hand on the final two.

I often wondered, how can some authors write such remarkable books. Well, I guess they do take years of hard work to perfect their skills or maybe some just have the gift of writing in themselves. Of course, writing needs some creativity, too, else everyone would end up with the same plot and same storyline. Maybe life experiences have some credits, too.

How can one not love book when it can bring you to anywhere in the world, the past or future, to the imaginary world or even the reality world. The endless flowing of words that make you not able to take your eyes off them.

seeing from the same point

Am listening the OST of Boys Over Flower while I'm writing now. I have seen two versions of this drama so far, the Taiwanese version and recently, the Korean version. Jeez, you couldn't imagine, how I loved the shows. The storyline, the music, everything.

There are a few phrases that I liked in the show, which I would like to rephrase and share here.

A phrase from Jan Di, "There is no your world or my world; as long as we see from the same point, there'll only be one world." Once people see things from the same perspective, there's where the common ground stands.

Another phrase from Jun Pyo, "There is such word (giving up) in my dictionary." A phrase that not many can say and accomplished it at the same time. Easy to say than to do.

A phrase from Ji Hoon, "Finally there's something that you are willing to be called crazy for." To have a dream is what mostly everyone would have. But how many of us are willing to strive our best regardless of how others would think or disapprove or discourage of us?

There are actually many others meaningful phrases that can be learned from the drama. Hope they will served as great encouragements to you.

love drama & music

Anyone who hasn't watched love drama before?
I guess almost everyone would have watched, whether it's a short film, drama series or movie.

Sometimes, watching those shows really amazed me. It's not just because it's a love story where boy and girl meets each other then falls in love and everything ended happily ever after. What amazed me more is the story line, the plot. I wondered what kind of scriptwriters out there that could think of such amazing love stories where lovers had to go through all those different kind of challenges in their love life, where they finally realised who their true love are. The determination showed, the act of never giving up on their love, to pursue till the end on what they believed, the touching scenes, the small little things in life.

Of course not to forget those love music played during the whole show. Sometimes while you are watching so intensively at the acting of the actor or actress, you could hardly realised that you are actually humming along the music played in the background. The songs played seem to be so blissful, so soothing, so intense, so heartbreaking, matching every scene of the drama. Without music, a show would be incomplete. These two seem just to be a pair, like soulmates.

Some say that life is just a drama itself, while some say drama is a reflection of life. Either way, I think it fits. So, what have you done for your drama of life for today? Have you added the right music in it?

Why not make your life beautiful today? Filled it with abundance of love and spread it to others. May your love bring warmth and joy to others.

diligence

Diligence - this word sprung into my mind few days ago while I'm enjoying my facial mask that afternoon.

Ever heard of the favourite phrase of those beauty saloons or those beauty programmes on TV that goes like this, 'There's no ugly women in the world, only lazy women'. So, what does it implies? You have to be diligent in keeping yourself pretty and slim.

What about those highly accomplished entrepreneurs that seems to enjoy endless of luxuries? Well, they worked hard when they first started off their career and are now enjoying their fruits of labour. Again, it is diligence.

There are no shortcuts in life. Some might have walked through a shorter and smoother journey, while some might take a little longer time in going through their journeys full of crossroads and barriers. What about you?

No matter how long your journey takes you, don't be despair or disillusioned. Try taking a few friends along to accompany you through your journey - Hope, Faith and Diligence.

last lecture

I think the Last Lecture is just the First Lecture that I have really read so far.
I was just looking around the book store trying to pick up a few books, and there I saw a book, which seems so familiar yet I don't recall I've read it anywhere before. The LAST LECTURE.

All my life, I had hoped to come across someone like Prof Randy, but I guess, maybe I was just too busy looking for someone perfect to fit in the bill of my perfect idol that I might have just missed out appreciating those who around me that had played an important role in changing my life and my way of thinking.

There a few insights inside this book that struck me real hard. Things about the brick walls, things about hard work and opportunity, things about relationship over material stuff, etc. It got me thinking about my dreams. Had I really been working real hard to achieve my childhood dreams?

I realised the older one gets, the more realistic (or maybe materialistic) your dream will become, like earning big bucks, buying big house. If you could just think back what your childhood dreams were and compared to the dreams you have now, is there a difference?

I guess not everyone is as lucky as Prof Randy students, but how many of us that would actually realised the value of another person? If only we had looked from different angles of a person, only we can know the real value of a person.

And how many of us can really recognized opportunity when it comes knocking on our door? There's a saying, opportunity doesn't come knocking twice. So, have you been checking on your door?

I'm now actually trying to view the Last Lecture of Prof Randy Pausch on You Tube, it's still loading. Even by just reading the book had brought me to tears, I wondered what will happened after I watched the video.

h-a-b-i-t

People says that old habits die hard, well, is the habit ain't dying or are we the one that are dying not wanting to let it go?

It is true to say that habits are formed when we are young, therefore children education are very important. That's why, do not blame your parents for having such stringent rules on you when you are young. They may sound nagging when it comes to getting your homework done, getting home before the sun sets, banning on television programmes or etc.

However, no matter hard is it to break a habit, with enough resolution, it is still breakable. So, when things don't go the way you want it to, don't blame it on your habits, it's actually you yourself that did not go breaking those old bad habits.

Why not check out what bad habits you have, maybe it's time to go breaking them!

environmental consiousness

The conversation just seems to strike up from nowhere. As we were having our usual chat over lunch, suddenly we are into the environmental issue. It might due to the hot weather recently or the haze or because of the fruits packed in plastic bag that we were eating!

Everyone, I believed almost everyone, is now aware of the environmental issues that were brought up over all these years. Thanks to the environmentalists who have been trying so hard to raise the awareness among us. We have been hearing on terms like green house effect, global warming, recycling, endangered species, pollution and etc.

However, even if we do have the tiny bit of awareness in us, do we actually take any action on it? That's a good question that my friend had brought up at the chat. Having the awareness is actually not enough. It is the action that will really help in saving our environment. Although you might think that the action from you alone might not have much impact on the environment, but if everyone thinks the same way, then there will be huge adverse impact on the earth.

It indeed will take a long time for the everyone to change, to do their environmental bit daily, to save the earth. But there are people who have started doing it already. You might not get used to it at first, or you might seems to be the odd one out among your peers. However, if what you are doing is right, why bothers about what others think?

Hence, just a question, have you done your bit for the environment today?
Walking the talk.

happy teachers' day

Can you recall what your teacher had taught you in your schooling days?

It seems like so long ago since I last celebrated Teachers' Day. I had came across an article in the newspaper today which somehow makes me think. What had we actually gained from our teachers?

Well, of course, along your path in your life, we'll meet someone who became our teacher in some way. Teacher teaches, so, whoever taught us something can be considered as a teacher, I guess. But let's just talk about teachers that had crossed our path back in our schooling days.

Does it sounds silly if I say that I could not recall at all what my teacher had taught me regarding how the chemicals react to each other, but I could remember so clearly what he told us on how he lose his weight!

Teachers really played a large role in our growing up days. They are as important as our parents as they are the ones that we spent our time with, when we are in school. And we actually spent at least one forth of a day in school.

However, if you noticed, we would not have a teacher for a long period of time. A year or two the most. The bond between the teachers and us will just gone by after the year. Therefore, sometimes we can hardly feel that we really know a teacher well and vice versa.

I always believed that teacher does more than teaching. A good teacher does not only teaches on the subjects for examination, but also teaches the way of becoming a good student, a good child to parents, a good citizen to contribute back to the country and also a responsible being.

So, it's the very least that we can do, which is to wish our teachers - Happy Teachers' Day!

To all my teachers, although I cannot say that I remembered every single thing that you had taught me, and neither can I say that I had applied well on everything you taught me, but I am really grateful of having you as my teacher.

Looking back, those days may seem to be fleeting moments, but memories left behind are priceless indeed.

p/s: I like the comment stated in the article, which says something like this, 'Malaysian has the habit of celebrating an event for a whole month, so it's still not late to wish - HAPPY TEACHERS' DAY!!'

2 hours

What does 2 hours means to you? What can be done in just a short 2 hours of time?

Actually come to think of it, we could spend 2 hours doing just one thing, or trying to do multiple stuffs in just 2 hours. End result of both would be different, of course. A wholesome of 2 hours could be real short or could be real long for some.

Two hours is sufficient to watch a movie, to have a meal, to complete a sport activity or lots more. If calculated so, we have actually 12 sets of 2 hours. Means, we could at least complete 8 to 12 tasks a day. Well, i presume we all do more than that! :)

However, two hours could mean a lot to those who are sick, those who are looking for hope or those who are searching for an answer. As it's the moment that they are looking for.

No matter, you are racing in the 2 hours of time, or dread for the 2 hours to pass. Don't have your time wasted whilst you had gained nothing throughout that 2 hours of time.
Grab your time and search for the moment in it.

long weekend

How would you normally spend your long weekends?

Pampering yourself and have a good, long relaxing vacation to compensate the long working hours that made you looked hagged and restless?
Rushing all those undone chores that you have been skipping as you are just too busy with daily routine?
Catching up with friends and family to see how they are coping with their stuffs and lives?
Trying out new things as you got lots of time in your hand and feeling adventurous?

Long weekend seems to be a great time to do all the things that are in your head, but just like the Chinese saying, "Human plans but God decides". Things might just goes terribly wrong and messed up your lovely plan. Still, there will also be times that things actually seems turn out better than what you had been expecting.
Ain't life irony?

No matter how irony life seems to be, just enjoy every single bit of it. Don't dampen your own spirit just because things don't goes your way. Who knows, just at another corner of the road, you'll bump into your lucky star and at the snap of the finger, you might just end up being in your dreamed like situation!

So, hope everyone has a great long weekend! And not to forget, wishing every mother in the whole world, "Happy Mothers' Day" !!

the present

Today is a gift, that's why it is called 'Present'.
Been reading up lately? Heard of the latest book of Spencer Johnson?
Had been flipping through half of the book recently and it got me thinking.

People always say, "Choose the work that you'll be happy doing it, if not change a new job". Some would say, "All works are the same, you should be happy doing with what you are doing." Which is which? To change and choose the environment that suits you, or to change yourself to suit the environment?

I believed that everyone has their own different choice. Some would believe that it's their right to uphold what they think and do, thus, would continue to seek until they found the right environment for themselves. On the other hand, some would think it's too difficult for the environment to change for just one person, so, what's so hard to just change themselves alone and fit in the crowd.

Apparently, there is no obsolute right or wrong in this matter. I would say, it depends on individual and of course the matter pertaining to it.

However, I do agree one point which is, in order to succeed in something, you need to focus and put in your effort in it. You will be truly satisfied by the end result. No wonder they say, the younger you are, the nearer you are to the present and the older you get, the further you seems to be away from it.

No one can give you the present. Only you yourself can give it to yourself. Have you found your present? Why not start lookng for it today. It's never too late achieve something, but only too late to regret upon not trying it.

comfort zone

What are your comfort zones?
Everyone has their own comfort zones, be it in work, in social circle or in life. What are yours? What happens when you reach your comfort zone?

Some people said that one should get out of own comfort zone, then only we can continue to strive and improve ourselves. Because we are in the comfort zone, therefore, we tend to lag behind as we are only doing our usual routine, safe and sound, with no mistakes as we are so used to it.

Well, theoretically, I think it is right, too. Because that is what I would mention to others, too. "Well, I guess we are in the comfort zone, so that's why we feel it's hard to get out of it." But, ain't that is where we would want to reach? Everytime, we started out something new, we would hope to reach a stage that we would finally mastered that particular thing, thus, reaching out for the comfort level.

Seems like, comfort zone should not be our final destination. Instead, it should just be the final step in every stage of life. In life, we have numerous stages to go through, to endure, to fight upon. We should always remind ourselves this point, so that, we will be ever ready to move on and know more about ourselves.

P/S: Personally, I find it hard to jump out of my comfort zone, too. Still, everything is worth a try. No harm to know more what lies over the other side.

pain

A friend of mine just commented on how he's afraid of pain. Well, honestly speaking, who isn't?

Still, we all know that pain is just one of the ways that we have to go through in order to grow up. Yet, how many of us can actually face pain bravely?

Saying is always easier than doing. However, giving up without even trying, just because we are afraid, that's the worst part of all. Everyone is afraid of something, and for some could be everything to. Afraid of falling, afraid of failing, afraid of being hurt, afraid to fall sick, afraid to die, afraid of insects, afraid of height, afraid of dying, the list could go on.

Being afraid to do something would make us missed out the possibilities of that thing happening. Nobody knows what could happened if you get hurt, it could end up in 1001 possibilities how things could end up differently, as long as you take the step to face what you are afraid of. Things might have end up totally opposite of what you are thinking. But if it really end the way you thought, well, what's the problem? You have already thought of it.

Of course, as long as we do things in a responsible and sensible way, but just the lack of the courage, I would say, "Don't be afraid, just go ahead".

what goes around, comes around

Does this phrase sounds familiar - What goes around, comes around?

It just suddenly occurs to me that, what goes around really comes around. It might not need to be great deed done and thus having good retribution nor does it needs to be great evil doing that finally gets back to you. It could just be a small gesture, a short conversation, a little gift, etc.

Sounds like karma? =P

"May everything be smooth sailing."

~ forever ~

It's around evening now, and yet I'm still stuck at work. Well, waiting for my transportation as usual. Out of sudden, just recalled a song I heard this morning. I believed many would have heard this love song before.
The song goes like this - "I'll be loving you ~~ forever .. deep inside my heart you'll leave ~~ me never .. even if ~~ you took my heart .. and tore it apart .. I would love you still~~, forever.."
Well, I'll just put in the rest of the lyrics below.

chorus:
I'll be loving you forever
deep inside my heart you'll leave me never
even if you took my heart and tore it apart
I would love you still, forever

you are the sun
you are my life
and your the last thing on my mind before I go to sleep at night
you're always round when I'm in need
when troubles on my mind you put my soul at ease
there is no one in this world, who could love me like you do
that is the reasons that I wanna spend forever with you

(chorus)

we`ve had our fun
and we've made mistakes
but who'd have guessed along the road we'd learn to give and take
it's so much more than i could have dreamed, I could have dreamed
cause you make loving you so easy for me
there is no one in this world, who could love me like you do
that is the reason that I wanna spend forever with you

I'll be loving you forever (forever)
deep inside my heart you'll leave me never (you never leave, no)
even if you took my heart (took my heart)
and tore it apart (and tore it appart girl)
I would love you still, forever

and girl I pray you leave me never
cos this is the world where lovers often go astray but if we love each other we won't go that way
so put your doubts aside
do what it takes to make it right
cos i love you forever no one can tear us apart.

chorus2:
I'll be loving you forever (forever)
deep inside my heart you'll leave me never even
if you took my heart (took my heart, girl)
and tore it apart (and tore it apart, now )
I would love you still, forever (forever)

(chorus2)

life? mind?

What makes you think the way you are thinking now?
The question just suddenly pops up in my head.

Life is a weird thing. Or maybe should I say that our mind is a weird thing? The mind could get you thinking this way or that way, and yet things could turn out totally different from the way you have thought it would be. So, is it the mind or the life? I don't know too. Maybe that is what makes life interesting, some would say. Unpredictability brings the sense of adventure.

~ 同一个遗憾 @ Same Regret ~

A nice song played in the drama - Miss No Good. A song by Wilber Pan and Blue J.

剩下我们 坐在岸边
看着她越走越远
白色星星 迎着海面
沙滩好远

而她的心 去了哪里
我们都无能为力
是谁的手 能牵她
回来

Does she know
Don’t think so

爱上了同一个遗憾
恍然明白 那时候
为何要 对彼此为难
Tell me she knows
I don't think so

Does she know (she knows)
Don’t think so (i know)

爱上了同一个遗憾恍
然明白 那时候为
何要 对彼此为难

Tell me she knows
I don't think so

我们都不属于她的爱
不能重来的伤害
而我们学会了释怀

Does she know
Don’t think so

爱上了同一个遗憾恍
然明白 那时候
为何要对彼此为难

Tell me she knows
Cause I don't think so

我们都不属于她的爱
不能重来的伤害
而我们学会了释怀

(English translation)
There are only us left to walk on the coastline
Watching her walking further and further
White stars facing the sea
The sandy beach is very far

Where is her heart
There's nothing else we can do
Who’s hand can pull her
Back

Does she know
Don’t think so

Loving the same regret
Suddenly realizing at that time
(We) are making both parties feel awkward

Tell me she knows
I don't think so

We both do not deserve her love
(We both) can not repeat this hurt
We both have learned to let go

Two friends, one that loves most
There can not be a future
Only the outcome let us
(have) such a surprise

Her decision at last is too slow
Watching the arrangement of that slight smile
Who do (we) blame (who is wrong) we both (we both)
Failed

Does she know (she knows) Don’t think so (i know)
Loving the same regret
Suddenly realizing at that time
(We) are making both parties feel awkward

Does she know (she knows) Don’t think so (i know)
Tell me she knows I don't think so

We both do not deserve her love
(We both) can not repeat this hurt
We both have learned to let go

Does she know Don’t think so
Loving the same regret
Suddenly realizing at that time
(We are) making things difficult

Tell me she knows Cause I don't think so
We both do not deserve her love
(We both) can not repeat this hurt
We both have learned to let go

love is in the air

Valentine's day is just around the corner.
And this day seems to be one of the "must-celebrate" events of the year, just like Christmas.
Everywhere you can see Valentine's day decorations and even on radio you can hear discussions for Valentine's day.

I believed that the very first thing that crosses your mind about Valentine's Day is love. True enough, it's a day to celebrate with your loved ones, though it does not to mean to limit only celebrating it with your girlfriend or boyfriend !!

Singles always shun away such celebrations, but why? You could always enjoy it with other (single) friends and it could be real fun! Else, then pamper yourself with all the things you loved. Bet you would have an extremely interesting day.

ownself

It's time to start facing our true self. To truly understand ourselves, to break through our own barrier and to reach out for the sky. To appreciate more and criticise lesser, to learn the beauty of others and to understand that everyone is unique in its own ways.

Let the new year begin with hopes.
Never say never. Nothing is impossible as even "impossible" can be "i'm possible".

Run of 2009

Someone had told me before that, take the beginning of the year as the start of a new run.

I believe that in life, we need to have stages or levels that we can look forward to. In other words, its like having aims or targets in your life. 'Cause that will be something that can push us to keep on going and encourage us when we feel like giving up. Making yearly resolutions can be one of the moves.

To classified a year as a run, well, this different kind of view really sounds refreshing and attractive, compared to those resolution-makings. And this triggers me something else. A year is actually quite a long run and in a long run, sometimes we'll tired, feel like giving up or even unconsciously took the wrong path. So, why not give ourself pit-stops along the run? Even marathon run has drinking stations along the way.

Hence, we could make our own pit-stops for our 2009 run. At these pit-stops is where we can review the journey we have taken so far, to take a rest and to refresh ourselves again before getting ready to complete the rest of the run.

I am thinking of having a pit-stop at the end of every month, so, I'll be having 11 pit-stops throughout my year 2009 run. Hhm, sounds good and reasonable. Well, looks like I'll be reaching my first pit-stop soon!!

what are you missing?

Want to quote this article that i read recently. It's very interesting and thought provoking.
What have you been missing all this while? Have you ever thought of it?

Below is the article. Enjoy...

What are you missing?

A MAN sat at a metro station in Washington DC and started to play the violin; it was a cold January morning. He played six Bach pieces for about 45 minutes. During that time, since it was rush hour, it was calculated that thousands of people went through the station, most of them on their way to work.

Three minutes went by and a middle aged man noticed there was musician playing. He slowed his pace and stopped for a few seconds and then hurried up to meet his schedule.

A minute later, the violinist received his first dollar tip: a woman threw the money in the till and continued to walk.

A few minutes later, someone leaned against the wall to listen to him, but the man looked at his watch and started to walk again. Clearly he was late for work.

The one who paid the most attention was a three-year-old boy. His mother tagged him along, but the kid stopped to look at the violinist. Finally the mother pushed hard and the child continued to walk, turning his head all the time.

This action was repeated by several other children. All the parents, without exception, forced them to move on.

In the 45 minutes the musician played, only six people stopped and stayed for a while. About 20 gave him money but continued to walk at their normal pace. He collected US$32 (RM112). When he finished playing and silence took over, no one noticed it. No one applauded, nor was there any recognition.

No one knew this but the violinist was Joshua Bell, one of the best musicians in the world. He played one of the most intricate pieces ever written with a violin worth US$3.5mil (RM12.25mil).

Two days before his playing in the subway, Joshua Bell sold out at a theatre in Boston and the seats average US$100 (RM350).

This is a real story. Joshua Bell playing incognito in the metro station was organised by the Washington Post as part of an social experiment about perception, taste and priorities of people.

The outlines were: in a commonplace environment at an inappropriate hour: Do we perceive beauty? Do we stop to appreciate it? Do we recognise the talent in an unexpected context?

One of the possible conclusions from this experience could be:

If we do not have a moment to stop and listen to one of the best musicians in the world playing the best music ever written, how many other things are we missing?
