last day's dawn

Woke up from a dream - a dream of being in a relay swimming competition event. The essence of the dream? I don't think it is about the familiar faces of old friends. I don't think it is about the event or sports itself. It somehow is about the lack of strength, the competitive feeling, the urge to push on till the end.

Waking up at the dawn of the last day - if there's dawn, as it's kind of rainy season here recently. It sort of makes me think back of this whole year. Maybe somehow, somewhere, I've lost the feeling of competitiveness - nay, I'm not a competitive person, but some times I do loved that adrenaline rush, for the right reason though. Having said so, maybe this is something that I should work on for the new year?

A common ritual for the last day of the year - what are you being grateful or thankful of, what are the mistakes that you have learnt from, and what are the new resolutions you want to make.

Let's think about it - there's still some time left before 2023 officially ended, and before we welcome a brand new year of 2024.

Happy New Year!

giving up

One tends to give up when things get tough. But there's a saying, "when the going gets tough, the tough gets going".

Often, we'll try to give up even before we started. This is often when we see how tough others have worked on it, or how we have imagined that we aren't capable of doing the similar thing.
Sometimes, we give up when we are just halfway through. This is when part of us have tried doing it and yet the result is not per expected, or we simply don't have the endurance to go further.
Rarely, we push ourselves to the limit, to accomplish what we set out to do. This is why there ain't many cream of the crop.

If you could just persist a little longer, if you could just put your hesitation aside, if you could just trust - would you give it all?

take a break

Life is forever on-going, that's why it's called life.
I've once read a post, that roughly said, "The to-do list we have everyday, is actually not for us to check it complete. If there's any task left undone, someone else will somehow be complete it. Instead, the to-do list is to show how fulfilling our time is."

So, out there, in this vast world, we aren't set out to keep on completing stuff, or rather, we ain't just using our time to complete the routine stuff, to keep things going. Regardless if we are doing them or not, if the things are meant to be done, it will be done, just the matter of time.

When things are too daunting, take a break, take a breather. Don't just keep on chasing the shadow.

Indication

For the past 2 days, it seems like I keep on getting indications or hints or signs that I should take a look at my career path or working life. Either that, or it's self awakening, trying to push myself to look clearer on what's going on, in my life. But, well, self awakening is quite impossible - as it seems like I'm living in self denial as long as I know.

Coincidence or not, I've heard on work responsibilities per designation given, I've heard about career future plan to think about and I've heard about work boundaries to be protected.

I'm not young enough to be too ambitious, nor am I too old to retire. But I'm at the stage where I'm supposed to be performing my best based on the knowledge and experience I'm supposed to gather throughout the years.

Yet, where am I, and what I'm doing now?
A point to ponder.

Friend vs friendship

What is the difference between friend and friendship?
Hhm, friend is a person, while friendship is a relationship?

Do you, sometimes, envy your friend that has more friends than you, which is besides you?

We can have multiple of friends, and each of our friends will have multiple of friends, too. Though there are chances that we will become friend with the friends of ours, but not all time, as it depends on each individual social circle. When it does or when it does not, what is the impact? There should not be any impact, as each friendship is different. Everyone forge friendship with one or another under different time and circumstances, and as times went by, endure different challenges.

Appreciate each friendship you have had, as each one has a different story. No need to envy, if you do not have as many friends as your friend has had, as we all went through different things at different time.

Thank you, my friend, for being a friend!
