Ostrich
Feel like being an ostrich today. To just dig a hole and bury my head under ground. Making the whole world disappear at a glance.
Went to a laundromat for the first time and was so terrible in differentiating the washing machine and the dryer. Thought that I've looked through the instructions on the wall, and yet, greenhorn is still a greenhorn, no matter how well you thought you are, or how well you thought you have prepared.
Lesson learnt?
Look at the big picture, and don't be too self conscious.
Goodbye 2022.
Hope today's final lesson of the year, will make a better me of tomorrow.
Awaiting to welcome 2023.

Counting down
6 more days to new year. Common questions - What have you achieved this year? What's your new year resolution?
Darn those repetitive questions.
Are those questions really irritating? Or are we the one feeling irritated?
Well, usually things hardly change, unless we change it, or we change ourselves.
For instance, the tree that grows outside of your house. It will just continue to grow daily, regardless what day is it.
As if the tree cares what day is tomorrow, or if new year is coming. But we do, right? We are the one caring the changes of days, the events, the celebrations.
If so, the tree vs you, you should be the one making changes, either to the tree, or to yourself.
You want to make your life better, you will be the one
to change or makes changes, 'cos life don't just change by itself.
Do ponder over it. You live your life once. Make the choice, make the right one.

Pain
How fast would you react, when you start to notice your body part(s) feeling pain? Or maybe how long would you endure the pain before you seek medical help?
In our day to day life, we usually spend more time thinking of the next thing we need to do or settle or clear, before the next task come to us. Life has somehow become a rat race, until some kind of life threatening event happened, that finally shakes us up, well, if it does.
We often forget that our body is not a machine, and unlike other human-made things, it does not come with spare parts or upgrade replacement parts which you can easily get.
How do you think you would react, if one day, you found out that you have over exhausted your body part(s) or you have neglected them, causing unrepairable condition. What would you do next? Of course time can't be reversed, so we can only look forward. Should God give you another chance, how would you make use of that opportunity?
You only live your life once.

congratulations
Attended a wedding today, and am so happy for this lil brother to finally achieve his life-long dream. Taking this chance to welcome him and his lovely wife onto the marriage life bandwagon, and may them enjoy each other companionship for the rest of their lives.
I've actually forgotten that we have known each other for 10 years now, and it seems like just months ago, we were having lunch together with the rest of the gang.
Usually when I attended others' wedding, I always feel nostalgic about my own. But not today. Well, not that I felt bored recalling my own wedding, just that, the me now, view wedding event differently.
Maybe, it has something to do with our age. As we have walked across half of our lifetime, there are things that we may start to think or view differently. Of course, everyone's maturity level is at different level at different time, and this is why each of us is unique.
At today's event, I noticed more on how many kids are there, what are the group age attending, the decorations of the hall, how people are interacting with each other. Usually, I would have been attentive to what music is played, what video and photos are shown.
Anyway, wedding is one of the important events in your lifetime, as it opens up another chapter, another door, in your life. On whether where it will lead you to, you will only know after you walk along the path. It may not be as smooth as you thought it would be, but it may not be as tough as you worried of. Still, once you step on this path, do carry on with courageous heart and good faith with you.
Congratulations again!

Do what you like, like what you do
Most of us are not doing what we like. So, we have to like what we do.
Honestly, how many of you are really doing things that you like. And do you really like all the things you are doing?
In our lives, it is not that we cannot do what we like, sometimes we are caught in the unforeseen circumstances, sometimes we are unwilling to take the extra mile, sometimes we are just afraid of the unknown risk.
We are taught since young, to becareful in things we do. Careful of what? Careful of risk, careful of the unknown, careful of danger. This somehow may be misinterpreted as by staying within the comfort zone.
As we grow older, we are taught of getting out of comfort zone, no pain no gain, higher risk higher return.
Now, isn't it contradicting?
So, end up sometimes we have to like what we are doing, in order not to get frustrated in the things we are doing. Hoping to stay sane.
Of course, not all things are loveable - like messy rooms, dirty laundry, pest infested washroom, crying baby. Those are things which are the parts amd parcels of life that we need to go through, which we may not like but can come to like.
Therefore, having to say to like what you do, is not just as a comforting word. It's just part of reality.
All the best to everyone. For those who are doing what you like, good for you. While for those who are not, do like what you are doing and enjoy life as it goes by.

Familia
I have been trying to google the word "family" , and this is the meaning I've found, "a group of one or more parents and their children living together as a unit" . Well, there's still another meaning that goes this way, "all the descendants of a common ancestor". I find these meanings ain't truly describe the word.
While on the other hand, Wikipedia gives a much more thorough explanation. "In human society, family is a group of people related either by consanguinity (by recognized birth) or affinity (by marriage or other relationship)". Now this sounds much better, or rather more relatable to the word.
Opps, there goes the days where we have to lookup words using hardcopy of dictionary at home or library, where we have to flip through the pages and find by alphabetical order then scan through the page to find the word we need.
Anyway, nowadays we are living in a smaller unit of family compared to the years of our ancestors, where family will only grow bigger when the children get married and even bigger when the children have their own children. Of course, this varies depending where we were.
Who would have guess, that the current modern style family have kids that stayed separately from their parents, irregardless they are married or not. This of course with various reason - education, work, married life, independence - you name it.
No matter you are far or near with your family, how the relationship with your family matters the most. What's the point of having family under the same roof when everyone having sore face. What's the point of calling each other family when you don't even acknowledge the other party.
I guess everyone has a different set of values that he or she held in regard for family. But I truly think, being in a family means there's affinity between the family members. Be it the affinity is good or bad. As I also hold this deeply, what doesn't breaks you, makes you stronger as God only put obstacle that you can cross, but ultimately it's still up to you whether you want to cross it or not.
Living life by itself ain't easy. For most of us, family is an extra support for us in this life. Though, for some that do not have family or those that really have mean family, I guess it may be a reminder to ourselves to be a better family to ourselves and others.

Birthday
What do you think of birthday?
Or rather, what is the first thing that you thought of, when the word birthday crossed your mind?
A beautiful cake? A lavish present? A grand celebration? A getaway holiday? A day for pampering yourself?
Well, I guess at different group of age, our expectations towards birthday gradually change too.
A younger self of us may look forward to delicious food and parties with friends.
A matured self of us may look forward to romantic and adventurous celebrations.
An older self of us may look forward to quiet and heart-warming day.
As far as I can recall, I would say I am quite blissful, as I always get to celebrate my birthday. Had I ever missed one, guess I must have subconsciously ignore that uneventful day. And while being happy or not celebrating the birthdays, well, that's another story.
May you get to celebrate your birthday(s) - be it a big celebration or a small and quiet one, it's alright. It's a day to be remembered, the day you see the light of the day (or night), the day you safely set footprint on the earth, the day that belongs to you.
Happy birthday!!

The hard way
Breathe in, breathe out.. Breathe in, breathe out..
I need a breather.. A real bad one..
My mind is screaming away..
I need a breather.. A real bad one..
My mind is screaming away..
And it make me recall having seen a sharing - seems to be from "The Mind Journal", that goes this way..
Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard. Choose your hard.
Obesity is hard. Fit is hard. Choose your hard.
Being in debt is hard. Being financially discipline is hard. Choose your hard.
Communication is hard. Not communicating is hard. Choose your hard.
Life will never be easy. It will always be hard. But we can choose our hard. Choose wisely.
Jeez, nobody told me life will always be hard. People always say that work hard to get a better life, isn't it?
Gosh, how lost could we be?
Some people say work hard and you will get reward by end of the day
Some people say work smart and why work hard when obviously smart work gets faster and better reward
When people do the things wrong, it's just a mistake.
When you do something that deemed wrong, it is an irredeemable action that will bring destruction to the end of the world.
OK, life is indeed hard.

Christmas Pig
Awesome!
Jeez, this is really the first kind of book that I've ever read, that has such an expected plot and storyline. You can even just imagine the scenes while the lines are read through in your mind.
Have you ever had a loved toy, just like DP? Or did you ever had a replacement like CP?
Honestly, I can't recall if I ever had one. But I do agree that a kid's true love is so pure and undivided, that it can take one to places.
Only that when we have grown up, some how our love has been splitted to various forms and directions.
And I do feel so sad if there are really toys or stuffs that are waiting for their owners to remember them. Sense of guilt crawling by.. Haha. But ain't it's true, if all things have feelings like human, the last thing that anything wanted is to be left behind.
Catch the book when you have time, you ain't gonna regret it, if you are a fan of J.K.

2022
Happy New Year!
Finally, we have step into year 2022. Looking back, was it hard to cross over? Well, can't really say it was easy. It does had its share of joy and pain along the journey.
What have we done so far, in year 2021?
What would we want to carry over to year 2022?
What do we want to leave behind in year 2021?
What are we looking forward to, in year 2022?
Life is always full of choices and priorities. You can say we are all spoilt of having so many options in this versatile world, if we really look hard for them, as there are so many ways of living. It is just what and how you want to live.
It's your life. And you lived your life.
