a better you

Have you ever give a thought of wanting to become a better you?
Well, I think I just give it a thought today. A brief one, though. And now I think, I should really put more thoughts on it.

I have first heard of this statement through a drama. Gosh, I must have been watching lots of drama, 'cos most of the things I can recall come from the drama I watched. Thankfully that I only absorb the good things out of them. Can't imagine what would happen if I am not able to differentiate between the good and the bad from the show.
Anyway, this is about the male lead, giving himself one year's time in order to learn more about himself and to become a better person, in order to pursuit the female lead who rejected his earlier proposal. Then off he went travelling with only moderate belongings and monetary. And indeed, this change his perception in life and people, as well as his personality (he's well-known for his bad temper at work and being a perfectionist).

And so I begin to think. Are we so used to our daily lives that we forgot we are only standing at the very same point, when we should be continuously going forward, learning and cultivate a better us? Is it because we are contented in our life or because we simply do not want to venture out of our comfort zone worrying about the unknown. Or is it that we have not met a better person that pull the trigger in us, as we do not have this kind of characteristic in us?

What would you do, if you are given the trigger to become a better you? Would you step out into the unknown, learn and accept the inadequate you? Then takes up the challenge to transform yourself into a better you?

The Four Stages on Life

Came across an article in FB that a friend of mine shared out on - "The Four Stages on Life" by Mark Manson. Simply put, it summarizes our life in four different stages which transcend from one stage to another, while changing our life priorities.
         Stage One - Mimicry
         Stage Two - Self-discovery
         Stage Three - Commitment
         Stage Four - Legacy

To read in more detail, you may want to take a peek at the link - https://markmanson.net/four-stages-of-life

While reading it, do think back of which stage you are at now. Life ain't long to be stuck in one stage for too long. It is worthwhile to venture out to other stages and see what really life means.

Sometimes it is hard to judge something as good or bad. Sounds like a weird statement? "Good thing is good, while bad thing is bad", you might say, "what is so hard to differentiate it?"
But do you realized that the thing that you say is good might means bad to the other person. So, what is good and what is bad?
That seems a bit further off from this topic, but while thinking of going through the stages in life, do think also about the value of life, and the value of good and bad.
